Scano Hello my nickname is Huggy, my real name is Ira. My given name krai da wa/:neh meaning bigtree,
as was given by clan mother. I am a 5'8'" North American Native. I am a single male. I am from the Cayuga Nation,
and I live on the Six Nations Reserve.
which includes the Cayuga, Mohawk, Seneca, Oneida, Onondaga, and Tuscarora tribes, all included under
the Iroquois Confederacy . Our reserve is located in Southern Ontario, in between Hamilton and Brantford, Ontario. growing
up on the REZ wasn't always a treat, I guess because I was the problem. See I got into drugs at early age, some where
about 12 I'm not too sure, I don't remember . At first it was sniffing gas, then model glue, by 14 I started skipping school
to just to get high. That is when I would go to my cousin"s house and he'd the call school for me say i was sick. I
didn't get much education, but for the most I did learn how to dance. My step dad taught me how to that was a
big plus for me 15 i did make it to high school "YES" there i able too form a dance group of 4 girls and
another guy that we performd at the shchool 16 and just as i was getting my live together and liveing too the fullest
or so i thoth the drugs cought up to me but even worse then i thout i was doing much more then sniffing i was starting
to use much stronger drugs such as acid, and some others which i won't talk about and becuse i looked muh older i was able
to get into bars oh but i also had id just in case an of corse i started to drink and not just weekends as most
there for abit was living on steets oh by my own choice becuse i thoth i knew eveythink . On July 5th 1985, at the age
of 16 I broke my neck, as the Result of a stupid mistake I had made. I was driving drunk, and the car rolled end over
end, and out the back window I went. In the end, I spent 3 months in Intensive Care, and another six months in rehab.
. As a result, I am now a quadriplegic in a wheelchair for the rest of my life . I was able to move my arms and speak
loudly, up until I had to have an emergency Trach, which helps me breathe. I believe this is how my vocal chords were
damaged. My weight dramatically decreased to 85 pounds. I have survived a cardiac arrest due to aspiration pneumonia
, great weight loss , along with the loss of my voice while in hospital. After the cardiac arrest, I was given a pacemaker
which doesn't allow my heartbeat to drop below 50 beats per minute. I also developed arm contractures in a matter
of days. I now live at home (where I been since then), with my mom and my adopted brother and sister. Life like this
isn't easy, however my family keeps me going. My mom is the greatest, even though she has a lot of medical problems
herself, yet I am her main concern. My only enjoyment in life now is my computer and the Few friends I have made while
I have been on the net!!!And unforuntuly like most there was no insurance money because the car was stolen:((
